Rylea's Story

Rylea was born via emergency cesarean section nearly 8 weeks early after a massive fetal-maternal hemorrhage - an incredibly rare and completely unexplained pregnancy complication.  Miraculously, Rylea was born alive and rushed to the NICU where she received numerous blood transfusions.  After being transferred with her father to the local children's hospital, Rylea survived a long night in the NICU.  Unfortunately, on the afternoon of 11/30, the doctors gave Rylea's parents (Shelbey & Ryan) the worst news of their lives that there was nothing more they could do for their precious Rylea.  Just a few hours later, they sat as a family and held Rylea as she took her final breaths.  Though Rylea left her physical presence and her heartbroken parents behind, she impacted the lives of hundreds of people.  It is the hope of her parents that through LTLOR, her memory will continue to touch the lives of the community and of parents following in these difficult footsteps.
